Files and workspace
Open spatial files, manage the browser workspace, and download results.
Open files
- Choose Open data in the File menu and select your files.
- For Shapefiles, select matching shp, shx, dbf, prj, and other companion files together, or open a zip archive.
- Select raster or DEM companion files together and keep their filenames. Open a FileGDB using its gdb folder or a zip archive.
- Wait for loading, locate the layer, and inspect attributes.
Supported readers cover GeoJSON, Shapefile, KML, KMZ, CSV, GeoPackage, GML, DXF, FlatGeobuf, MapInfo, and FileGDB. The spatial engine is loaded on demand when a file first requires it.
Restore a workspace
Opened files are stored in this site's browser storage for workspace restoration. Switching browsers, clearing site data, or private browsing can make them unavailable. Browser storage is not a long-term backup.
Creating a new workspace clears the current stored data. Export any results you need before confirming.
Export
Choose a target layer and Export layer from the File menu. Check the format and coordinate system, then start. Retrieve the result from browser downloads. A cancelled long task can be started again.
