Web user guide

Open data, explore the map, and export results in your browser.

Get started

Open the web workbench, wait for the map, then open data from the File menu. See Files and workspace for details.

The left panel manages layers, online terrain, and imagery. Selecting a layer exposes operations suitable for that data. Locate a layer to inspect its position and open the attribute table to check records.

Analysis and results

The Analysis menu provides spatial queries, buffers, overlays, and topology checks. Choose inputs and parameters for the operation. Long tasks report progress; inspect the resulting layers or issue list when complete. Exported files are downloaded by the browser.

Browser differences

The browser reads local data through files you select, rather than arbitrary filesystem paths. The workspace is stored in the current browser. Export results that need long-term storage or sharing.

Browser scripts run in the script console on the Examples page, using the shared Script API documentation. Examples and the workbench have separate maps; example scripts do not operate on workbench layers.

To integrate maps into your own website, see the browser SDK.
